PRODUCTION :
In Margherita Area presently, there are three underground and two opencast mines in operation. These mines have produced 1.05 MT during the year 2006-07 and likely to achieve targeted production of 1.1 MT for the year 2007-08.
Although NEC coals are situated in deep forest areas and having steep dips of 15° - 80° and difficult geo-mining conditions, achieved highest coal production of 1.1 MT in the year 2005-06 surpassing all the previous records and came into profit mode. The year-wise break-up of production and OMS is given below :
